Parts Ordering and Equipment
Process for ordering components
Once a faulty unit has been diagnosed and the faulty components identified they are replaced from stock. If the parts are not held in stock, they are ordered from the manufacturer.
Brown Goods
All components are ordered from the manufacturers wherever possible or their designated suppliers/ stockist. Parts are identified, ordered, and controlled over the internet. Orders are requested on a next-day delivery basis unless out of stock or no longer available.
If the part or parts concerned are out of stock, an estimated date of delivery is requested. If the date given is more than five working days then authorization from the utilities is required as to the process i.e. either a financial settlement or replacement.
Settlement is based on the age, condition, and cost of a replacement item. This information will be conveyed to the utilities for a decision. This decision also applies to units that are deemed beyond economical repair (B.E.R.) i.e. if parts are no longer available.
Replacements
Brown Goods
Replacement brown goods, including TVs, DVD players, and HDD recorders, are ordered from the suppliers with a lead time of 24 hours and delivered direct from suppliers to customers throughout the UK.
White goods
The parts ordering procedure is the same for white goods i.e. washers, ovens, dishwashers, dryers, and the settlement procedure is also the same. All replacement white goods units have a 24-hour to 48-hour lead time. These come direct from our suppliers with:
